PREPARE

Before Your Appointment

If you are not scheduling a hair wash or detox, PLEASE come in with clean, dry hair.

Your hair needs to be freshly washed and completely dry to get the best results.

Consider an anti-inflammatory.

Although we have a gentle touch, as far as locticians go, the dreadlocking process puts a good amount of tension on the scalp and can be a tender process that causes some inflammation. We suggest
that customers who are on the more sensitive side consider consulting with their physician about getting an anti-inflammatory, such as ibuprofen, to take during and immediately after your services.

Appointment Day

Wear comfy clothes.

You will be sitting in one spot for several hours, dress accordingly. While we allow breaks as needed, a good portion of your time will be spent sitting and it's best not to have clothes that are constrictive, dig, or are in anyway uncomfortable. Dressing in layers is also suggested.

Eat a healthy and filling meal.

Although it may not seem like it, it takes a good amount of strength and endurance to sit still for hours on end. Having a stomach full of nutrient-rich foods will keep you more comfortable and make you
more patient during your appointment.

Bring drinks and snacks.

You will surely be thirsty at some point during your appointment and there is a good chance you will get hungry too. Although we have drinks and snack, it is not a bad idea to bring some snacks and a few drinks with you, especially if you have any types of dietary restictions. There is a refrigerator available for your use at the salon. You can take breaks as needed throughout the course of your service.

Come alone.

We understand you may want someone to keep you company during your appointment, but the salon really isn't set up for it and it can feel overcrowded quickly. Guests are not welcome to attend your appointment, even if they intend to sit quietly off to the side.

Parking is available in the back and out front.

There is limited parking available behind the salon. If that parking lot is full there is parking available in front of the salon that is free for 3 hours.

Be prepared to pay.

Cash, PayPal, Venmo, card are all acceptable payment methods. If you are paying by cash, be prepared with the exact amount owed, we do not generally carry change.

Purchase aftercare products.

To ensure that your new do’ is best taken care of, we recommend the highest quality of products that cater to the needs of the dreadlock community specifically. You need to make sure that you have everything you need to take care of your dreadlocks at home, and we are to go through a product consultation with you during your appointment.
